Get Out is an instant classic. It's smart, pointed, and terrifying. Director Jordan Peele (of comedy group Key and Peele) nods to classics like Rosemary's Baby in an ambitious film that combines a creepy story with searing social commentary. Chris is a black photographer, and when he agrees to meet his white girlfriend's parents, he has no idea what he's getting into. The weekend at her parents' isolated home begins with her parents awkwardly trying to welcome him before the experience becomes something infinitely more disturbing. With a solid horror premise driving it, Get Out touches on the effects of the slave trade, the meaning of cultural co-option, and the whole tangled mess of race relations in America. It's also crazy-scary!
