This inspiring movie tells the true story of three African-American women who were instrumental in the U.S. space program. Hidden Figures is set in 1961, when "computers" were human mathematicians. Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson are three of NASA's many human computers. They're also black women in a field entirely dominated by white men, so they struggle against more than just physics and gravity. Faced with institutional racism and sexism, the three women persevere with humor, grace, and intellect, rising through NASA's hierarchy to become indispensable to the success of early space missions. Hidden Figures' memorable performances, spot-on writing, and inspiring story have earned the movie rave reviews from audiences and critics alike.
